Week 13 of the Ashbourne Wednesday netball league brought another fantastic evening of competitive action, with teams continuing to deliver high-quality performances and exciting matches across the League. As the season edges closer to its conclusion, every game is becoming increasingly important, and this week once again highlighted the determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship shown by all sides involved.

The opening fixture saw Sling It Sisters secure an impressive 12-6 victory over Still Playing. Sling It Sisters produced a confident and organised performance throughout the match, moving the ball effectively around the court and taking their chances well in attack. Still Playing continued to work hard and remained competitive throughout the game, showing great resilience and teamwork despite facing a strong opponent. Both teams contributed to an entertaining match played in excellent spirit.

One of the closest contests of the evening came between Nets Get Physical and Bourne Lucky in a game that kept everyone watching fully engaged until the final whistle. In a thrilling encounter filled with momentum swings and end-to-end netball, Nets Get Physical narrowly edged the game 15-14. Both teams demonstrated excellent attacking play and composure under pressure, with neither side willing to give an inch defensively. The narrow result reflected just how evenly matched the teams were, and both sides deserve credit for producing one of the most exciting games of the season so far.

Pass Me The Wine delivered the standout performance of the night with a commanding 23-6 victory over The Ash-tonishers. From the opening stages, Pass Me The Wine played with confidence, energy, and excellent teamwork, consistently creating scoring opportunities and maintaining strong defensive pressure across the court. The Ash-tonishers continued to battle positively throughout the game, but Pass Me The Wine’s attacking flow proved difficult to contain.

A special mention from the evening goes to Harriet Potter of Pass Me The Wine, who was deservedly named the week’s Most Valued Player. Harriet produced an outstanding all-round display, impressing with her movement, accuracy, and influence throughout the game. Her performance was a key factor in her side’s impressive victory, and she consistently demonstrated the quality and determination that make the League so enjoyable to watch each week.

Elsewhere, Ash & Dash recorded another strong result with a convincing 16-8 win over Ball Of Fame. Ash & Dash showed excellent composure throughout the game, combining quick passing with solid defensive work to maintain control for long periods. Ball Of Fame continued to work tirelessly and showed plenty of commitment and enthusiasm, but Ash & Dash’s consistency and teamwork helped them secure an important victory.

As Week 13 comes to an end, the Ashbourne Wednesday netball league continues to provide an excellent standard of competition, with teams showing fantastic effort and sportsmanship every week. The League remains highly competitive, and with only a limited number of fixtures remaining, teams will already be looking ahead to their next matches as they aim to finish the season strongly.

The atmosphere each Wednesday continues to highlight what makes the league so successful, with players enjoying competitive netball in a welcoming and positive environment. Every team has contributed to another memorable season so far, and there is no doubt there are still plenty of exciting moments to come before the campaign concludes.
