Well done to all players on completing their first season in the Biddulph league. Congratulations to Shooting stars who were crowned this seasons champions and to the runners up All about that pass, also well done to Amy Caddick from Interceptors on being crowned this seasons most valued player.
In an exciting and enjoyable final week of the Stoke-on-Trent Wednesday netball league, the division delivered a series of strong performances and well-contested matches. Throughout the evening, teams showed great effort, teamwork, and determination, rounding off the season on a high note.
Shooting Stars finished the season as deserved winners, securing the title with a total of 16 points and an impressive 8 victories. Their consistent performances across the season, combined with strong teamwork and accurate shooting, helped them maintain their position at the top of the division. They have set a great standard for the rest of the league moving forward.
The final week featured several competitive fixtures. All About That Pass faced The Interceptors in an energetic and fast-paced match. All About That Pass controlled the game well and came away with a 19–6 win, demonstrating effective passing, good movement, and solid finishing throughout.
In another match, Shooting Stars took on No Regrets Just Nets and delivered a confident 9–2 victory. Their organised approach and ability to work together as a team were clear to see, helping them close out the season strongly and confirm their place at the top.
One of the standout games of the evening was between Hit Me With Your Best Shot and Netbusters. Both teams showed great commitment and competitive spirit, making it an enjoyable match to watch. Netbusters managed to edge ahead and secure a 12–8 win in what was a closely fought contest.
This week’s most valued player was Amy Caddick of The Interceptors. Despite the result for her team, she delivered an excellent individual performance, showing great awareness, effort, and consistency throughout the match. Her contribution did not go unnoticed and she was a deserving recipient of the award.
As always, we would like to remind all players of the importance of respecting umpire decisions and maintaining a positive attitude on court. Good sportsmanship is a key part of the league, and we encourage everyone to communicate respectfully, use appropriate language, and help create an enjoyable environment for all participants each week.
Overall, the Stoke-on-Trent Wednesday netball league has provided an enjoyable and competitive season, with teams improving week by week and creating a positive and friendly atmosphere. The division has seen a range of strong performances, close results, and memorable moments that players and supporters will look back on with pride.
