Stoke-on-trent Wednesday night netball - week 1

The Stoke-on-Trent Wednesday netball league got off to a great start this week, with an enjoyable opening round of fixtures and plenty of competitive, well-played matches across the league.

There was a really positive atmosphere throughout the evening, with teams showing strong teamwork, good communication, and a great attitude as the new season got underway.

One of the standout matches of the night saw Hit Me With Your Best Shot take on All About That Pass. This was a closely contested game, with both teams evenly matched throughout. Neither side was able to pull away, and the game finished in a well-earned 3–3 draw. It was a great example of balanced play, with both teams showing solid defence and patience in attack.

Another exciting game came between Shooting Stars and Netbusters. This was a closely fought match from start to finish, with both teams battling hard for every goal. Shooting Stars just edged the result, securing a narrow 7–6 win in what was an entertaining and competitive contest.

It was also fantastic to see some strong individual performances across the league. A special mention goes to Abby Shaw from No Regrets Just Nets, who was named Most Valued Player of the week. Her performance stood out for her effort, consistency, and positive impact on the game.

Overall, it was a really encouraging start to the season, with all teams contributing to a friendly yet competitive environment. It’s great to see such a strong mix of teamwork and sportsmanship so early on, and it sets a positive tone for the weeks ahead.
