Stoke-on-trent Wednesday night netball - week 7

Play in the Stoke-on-Trent Wednesday Netball League

Stoke-on-Trent – Week seven of the Stoke-on-Trent Wednesday Netball League delivered another evening of competitive and entertaining fixtures, with teams continuing to show great commitment and teamwork as the season progresses. Every match was played with energy and determination, creating an enjoyable atmosphere both on and off the court.

One of the evening's closest contests saw Hit Me With Your Best Shot secure a hard-fought 6 - 4 victory against Shooting Stars. Both teams battled strongly throughout the game, with momentum shifting at different stages and strong defensive play making scoring opportunities difficult to come by. Shooting Stars continued to compete until the final whistle and produced several positive passages of play in what proved to be a closely fought encounter.

Despite her side's narrow defeat, Shooting Stars player Andrea Dawson delivered an outstanding individual performance and was named this week's Most Valued Player. Her effort, movement, and contribution across the court stood out throughout the evening and played an important role in keeping her team competitive from start to finish.

In another entertaining fixture, All About That Pass claimed a 6 - 4 victory over No Regrets Just Nets. Both teams showed excellent teamwork and determination in a match that remained competitive throughout. All About That Pass were able to edge ahead through composed play and strong communication on court, while No Regrets Just Nets continued to work hard and showed plenty of encouraging moments despite the result.

As the season moves towards week eight, the competition across the League continues to grow stronger each week. Teams are beginning to build momentum, and every point is becoming increasingly valuable as sides look to climb the table and finish the season strongly.

The Stoke-on-Trent Wednesday League continues to provide a welcoming and competitive environment for all involved, with players showing great enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the campaign. Supporters and teams alike will now be looking ahead to another exciting round of fixtures next week.

Players and spectators are also reminded to be mindful of their language and conduct both on and around the court. The league aims to provide a respectful, positive, and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone involved, and all teams are encouraged to continue supporting this environment throughout the season.

Teams are also reminded to respect the decisions made by the umpires throughout the evening's fixtures. Umpires are there to ensure matches are played fairly, safely, and in the right spirit for everyone involved. While games can be competitive, all players and spectators are encouraged to support the officials and remember that their decisions are final.

Umpires should never be expected to tolerate abusive or disrespectful behaviour from players or spectators. The league is committed to providing a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for everyone involved, and all participants are expected to treat officials, opponents, and fellow players with respect at all times.

If you are unsure about any decisions made during a match, please speak to the umpires in a calm and respectful manner at half-time or at the end of the game for clarification. This approach helps ensure clear communication, maintains the flow of the match, and supports a positive and respectful environment for all participants.

Any issues or concerns you still have regarding the league should be raised directly with Head Office rather than being addressed during match evenings. This ensures that matters can be reviewed properly and handled in a fair and consistent manner, helping to maintain a positive and well-organised environment for all teams, players, and officials involved.
