The Buckingham Sunday Netball League got underway last night with a great evening of matches, as teams returned to court for the start of a new season. Players showed plenty of energy and teamwork throughout the opening fixtures, giving an early glimpse of what looks set to be an enjoyable and competitive campaign.
In the division, Netball Ninjas made a strong start with a 24-3 win over Court Up. Their organised defence and consistent shooting helped them settle into the season well and secure an encouraging opening result.
Another closely fought game saw Catch 22 narrowly overcome Netbusters 13-11 in a match that stayed competitive from start to finish. Both teams demonstrated strong teamwork and determination, with the result only decided in the closing stages.
Elsewhere, Throwbacks claimed a 10-3 victory against Bib It Like Beckham in another entertaining contest. Despite the result, Bib It Like Beckham’s Twanet Hilton impressed throughout the match with an excellent individual performance, earning the title of Most Valued Player of the Week.
With the first round of fixtures now complete, the Buckingham Sunday Netball League is shaping up to be an exciting season full of friendly competition, improving performances and plenty of memorable moments. Teams will now look ahead to the next set of matches as they continue to build momentum in the weeks ahead.
