Play in the Newport Wednesday netball league
Congratulations to Court Queens on being crowned this season’s winners in the Newport league, and well done to runners-up Goalden Girls. A special mention also goes to this season’s most valued player, Kathy Tagg from Ball Snatchers.
The final week of the Newport Wednesday netball league brought an exciting close to the season, with week 14 delivering a series of closely contested matches in the division. Throughout the league, there were some great performances, competitive games, and impressive scores that kept everyone engaged.
One of the evening’s matches saw FireBallz secure a narrow 6–4 win over Block It Like It’s Hot in a closely fought game. Irreplaceaballs also edged past Ball Snatchers with a tight 7–6 result in another well-matched contest.
A standout fixture of the night was between Caught Offside and Goalden Girls, with Goalden Girls putting in a strong performance to win 11–6. Court Queens also showed their quality with a convincing 24–4 win over Jump! Jump!.
This week’s most valued player was Laura Henighan-Davies from Block It Like It’s Hot, recognised for her excellent contribution and consistent performance. Her movement, awareness, and teamwork made a real difference on the court.
At the end of a competitive season, Court Queens finished as well-deserved winners of the division. With 26 points and 13 victories, they showed great consistency throughout the league.
