Play in the Newport Wednesday netball league
Week three of the Newport Wednesday netball league brought another enjoyable and competitive evening of matches, with all teams showing great effort, teamwork, and a positive approach on court. As the season continues to take shape, it’s clear that every team is growing in confidence and developing their style of play.
Court Queens made a strong impression with a 14–8 win over Goalden Girls. Their movement around the court and ability to link passes effectively helped them build momentum throughout the match. Goalden Girls also showed good determination, continuing to work hard and create opportunities of their own.
Jump! Jump! followed up with a well-earned 13–7 victory against FireBallz. Their consistency and communication were key, allowing them to maintain control for much of the game. FireBallz remained committed throughout, showing resilience and a willingness to keep pushing until the final whistle.
Irreplaceaballs delivered a composed performance in their 12–3 win over Block It Like Its Hot. Their organisation and teamwork helped them take their chances effectively. Despite the result, Block It Like Its Hot can take positives from the game, particularly through the standout performance of Rebecca Phillips, who was named the most valued player of the week. Her effort, skill, and determination made a real impact and set a great example on court.
One of the closest and most evenly matched games of the evening saw Ball Snatchers take on Caught Offside. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Ball Snatchers just edged the result 6–5. Both teams showed excellent determination and composure, making it an enjoyable match for everyone involved.
As we move further into the season, the league continues to provide a supportive and competitive environment for all teams. Each week offers new opportunities to build confidence, develop teamwork, and enjoy the game. With plenty of fixtures still to come, there’s lots to look forward to as teams aim to finish the season strongly.
