Play in the Newport Wednesday netball league
WEEK 4 OF THE NEWPORT WEDNESDAY NETBALL LEAGUE
Week four of the Newport Wednesday netball league brought another enjoyable evening of matches, with teams across the League continuing to build confidence, improve teamwork, and enjoy some competitive games on court. There were plenty of positive performances throughout the night, with all teams showing determination and commitment.
One of the evening’s fixtures saw Block It Like It’s Hot secure a 13-7 win over Jump! Jump! Both teams showed good movement and effort throughout the game, with Block It Like It’s Hot finding consistency across the court to help them take the result. Jump! Jump! continued to battle well and created some positive moments of their own during the match.
Elsewhere, Goalden Girls recorded a 16-7 win against Irreplaceaballs. Goalden Girls worked well together and moved the ball confidently around the court, while Irreplaceaballs remained committed throughout and continued to look for opportunities to build their play.
Court Queens also produced a strong performance in their game against Ball Snatchers, earning a 23-1 victory. Their teamwork and communication helped them maintain control of the match, while Ball Snatchers kept working hard and showed great spirit throughout the fixture.
FireBallz added another positive result to the evening with a 10-4 win over Caught Offside. Both teams showed good determination and effort, contributing to an enjoyable and competitive contest.
Despite her team’s result, Ball Snatchers player Sarah Armstrong-Barnes was named Player of the Week. Her attitude, effort, and contribution on court stood out and reflected the supportive and encouraging nature of the league.
Across the League, teams continue to improve week by week, building confidence and enjoying their netball in a friendly and welcoming environment. The standard of play continues to grow, with players developing strong teamwork and creating plenty of entertaining matches along the way.
As the season moves forward, there is still plenty to look forward to, with teams aiming to build on their performances and continue enjoying their time on court. The League continues to offer a great mix of friendly competition, development, and enjoyable netball each week.
