Play in the Newport Wednesday netball league
Week 6 of the Newport Wednesday netball League delivered another exciting evening of competitive action, with teams continuing to showcase impressive teamwork, determination, and skill across the court. As the season begins to take shape, every match is becoming increasingly important, with teams battling for valuable points and momentum heading into the second half of the campaign.
The atmosphere throughout the evening reflected the growing competitiveness of the League, with players giving maximum effort in every fixture and supporters enjoying another entertaining round of netball. From close contests to commanding performances, Week 6 once again highlighted the high standard of play that has become a key feature of the Newport Wednesday League.
One of the standout fixtures of the night saw Goalden Girls take on Caught Offside in a highly anticipated match-up. Goalden Girls produced a composed and disciplined performance, using quick passing, strong defensive pressure, and accurate shooting to secure a well-earned 10-6 victory. Both teams worked hard throughout the game, but Goalden Girls managed to maintain control during key moments to continue their positive run of form.
Court Queens also impressed with one of the strongest performances of the evening as they faced Jump! Jump!. Demonstrating excellent movement across the court and strong communication as a team, Court Queens secured a convincing 15-4 win. Their attacking play proved difficult to contain, while their defensive organisation limited opportunities for their opponents. The result strengthens their position in the League standings and gives them valuable confidence moving forward.
Elsewhere, Irreplaceaballs claimed an important 10-6 victory over Ball Snatchers in another competitive contest. Both sides battled hard throughout the game, but Irreplaceaballs were able to capitalise on key opportunities and maintain their composure during crucial periods of play. Their consistency and teamwork ultimately helped them secure the points.
Block It Like Its Hot also celebrated success with a strong 10-6 win against FireBallz. The game featured plenty of energy and determination from both teams, but Block It Like Its Hot produced a solid all-round performance to edge ahead and finish the evening with another positive result. Their ability to remain focused under pressure proved to be a major factor in the outcome of the match.
Although Jump! Jump! were unable to secure a victory this week, Rachel Simms delivered an outstanding individual performance and was deservedly recognised as the League’s Most Valued Player for Week 6. Her determination, work rate, and skill throughout the match stood out on the night and reflected the competitive spirit shown by players across the League each week.
As the Newport Wednesday netball League moves into Week 7, the competition continues to build with teams eager to climb the table and maintain momentum. Every game is proving to be closely contested, and with several teams showing strong form, the race for top positions is becoming increasingly exciting.
The League continues to provide a fantastic environment for players of all abilities to enjoy competitive and social netball, with every Wednesday evening bringing new highlights, memorable performances, and opportunities for teams to improve and grow together. With the standard of play continuing to rise week after week, there is plenty to look forward to as the season progresses.
