In the bustling town of Neath, the tenth week of friendly Social Netball matches took place this past Tuesday. These matches were part of the much-loved Back to Netball programme, which encourages players to focus on fun, fitness, and friendship, while falling back in love with the game.
In Division 1, high spirits and laughter echoed through the court as Hoops I Did It Again and The Queen Bees took to the field, ending the game with a score of 10-14. The Pulse Chasers and Nets Get Physical also shared in the fun, with an ending score of 9-22, while Socket Shifters and Glynneath Gal-Zelles played an energetic game that ended 18-12.
Moving to Division 2, Block It Like It's Hot and Spice Goals played an entertaining match that ended 15-17, and High Hoops and Sweaty Betty's enjoyed a lively game that ended 35-6. The Glynneath Gazelles and Steel Town Shooters also had a great time on the court, ending the match with a score of 5-14.
A friendly shout-out goes to Ellie McDyer from Steel Town Shooters, who was highlighted as the player of the session for her positive contribution on court. Ellie embodies the spirit of fun, fitness, and friendship that Back to Netball aims to promote.
As we celebrate the last week of matches for this round, a huge well done goes to Nets Get Physical and High Hoops, who have done brilliantly to finish top of their respective divisions. A special mention also goes to The Queen Bees and Spice Goals, who finished as deserving runners-up after fantastic seasons. All of the teams have embraced every match with great enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship, helping to create a fun and friendly atmosphere throughout the season.
Congratulations also to Megan Hardwick from Glynneath Gal-Zelles, who was named Player of the Season.
