Wednesday marked the start of a new season at the Charlbury Community Centre, with an enjoyable evening of social netball. The atmosphere was welcoming, encompassing players of all experience levels who contributed to a delightful night of netball in a true spirit of camaraderie and shared passion for the game.
The first match of the evening involved the Pocket Rockets and Netchicks. The Pocket Rockets finished the game with a score of 23, with Netchicks gathering 3. The teams maintained a great spirit throughout the game, emphasizing the enjoyment and love for the sport above all else.
The second game saw the Ramsden Rockers and Ball Saints sharing the court. Ramsden Rockers concluded the match with a score of 14, while Ball Saints closely followed with 11. The game was a display of sportsmanship, positive energy, and a sense of unity that made it a joy to watch.
The next game of the evening brought together the Sky Shooters and Attackley. With a final score of Sky Shooters 8, Attackley 5, both teams showcased their well-rehearsed teamwork, unwavering commitment, and unbounded energy, making it an amicable game that was enjoyed by all.
A special mention goes to the Most Valued Player of the week, Nancy Seymour from Attackley. Nancy's enthusiasm, agility, and positive contributions on the court were appreciated by both her teammates and opponents alike.
As we look ahead to Week 2, we eagerly anticipate another evening of friendly social netball. We welcome players getting back into netball, and encourage everyone to join us in keeping active, meeting new people, and developing netball skills in a supportive and friendly environment.
This is just the beginning of the season, and if Week 1 is any indication of the weeks to come, we can look forward to many more evenings of fun, friendship, and social netball. Here's to a great start and an even better continuation of the season!
