Play in the Wrexham Monday Netball League
Week eight of the Wrexham Monday Netball League delivered another fantastic evening of competitive netball, with teams continuing to demonstrate excellent teamwork, determination, and skill as the season approaches its final stages. With only two weeks remaining, every fixture carries added importance, and players across the league rose to the occasion with some impressive performances on court.
The evening began with Wrex Factor taking on Catch 22 in a well-contested match. Wrex Factor produced a strong performance to secure a 15-6 victory, combining accurate passing, intelligent movement, and effective shooting to build momentum throughout the game. Their ability to transition the ball smoothly through the court allowed them to create consistent scoring opportunities, while their defensive unit worked hard to limit Catch 22's attacking chances. Catch 22 continued to compete positively throughout the match and showed great determination against a well-organised opposition.
The second fixture saw Red Dragons face The Call-Out Queens. Red Dragons delivered a confident all-round display to claim a 14-1 victory, demonstrating strong communication and excellent court awareness throughout the contest. Their defensive players applied pressure from the first whistle, contesting passes and creating valuable turnovers, while their attackers capitalised on opportunities in the shooting circle. The Call-Out Queens continued to work hard throughout the game, showing resilience and commitment despite facing a strong defensive performance.
The final match of the evening featured Rulebreakers against Defensive Divas. Rulebreakers secured a 10-4 victory after a disciplined and composed performance across all areas of the court. Their ability to maintain possession, support teammates with well-timed movement, and convert opportunities under pressure proved decisive. Defensive Divas showed plenty of effort and determination throughout the game, with both teams producing some strong defensive passages and competitive netball.
One of the standout aspects of this week's fixtures was the quality of defensive work on display. Across all matches, players demonstrated excellent anticipation, timing, and positioning to secure interceptions, deflections, and rebounds. At the same time, attacking units showed patience and creativity in possession, working hard to create space and maintain the flow of play through the thirds.
As the season enters its final two weeks, the league table remains an important focus for many teams. Every point gained could make a difference as sides look to finish the season strongly and build momentum heading into future competitions. The commitment and enthusiasm shown by players each week continues to contribute to a positive and enjoyable league environment.
The standard of netball throughout the season has been excellent, with teams consistently demonstrating improvements in teamwork, communication, and tactical awareness. Week eight was another example of the quality on display across the league and highlighted the effort that every team continues to put into their performances.
Congratulations to Wrex Factor, Red Dragons, Rulebreakers, Catch 22, The Call-Out Queens, and Defensive Divas for their efforts this week.
