The Clywedog Leisure & Activity Centre was abuzz with laughter, camaraderie, and the sound of whistles as week 9 of the social netball season got underway. It was another wonderful evening of community sport with players of all experience levels participating. The welcoming atmosphere, combined with a great night of netball, made for an exhilarating evening.
The first match of the evening witnessed a friendly clash between Rulebreakers and Wrex Factor. The game was enjoyed by all with Wrex Factor finishing with a score of 14-9. It was a showcase of true teamwork, commitment, and sportsmanship, with both teams displaying tremendous positivity throughout the match.
Up next were the Defensive Divas and the Red Dragons. As the evening progressed, so did the energy, and this match ended with Red Dragons securing a 7-5 victory. The game was played in high spirits, with both teams displaying notable teamwork on the court.
The last game of the night saw The Call-Out Queens and Catch 22 play an engaging game. Despite the evening drawing to a close, the energy was still high and Catch 22 ended the game with a score of 10-8. This game, like the rest, was a testament to the positive energy and sportsmanship that social netball brings.
A special mention must be made to Abby Akerman-Spencer from Defensive Divas, who was named the Most Valued Player for the week. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and her movement around the court made a positive contribution to the team. Her performance was highly appreciated by her teammates and opponents alike.
Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate Week 10's games. Here's to another week of fun, fitness, and friendship through the wonderful game of netball.
