Week 6 of the Congleton Thursday Netball League brought another exciting evening of competitive matches, with teams continuing to demonstrate excellent teamwork, determination and enthusiasm as the season progresses. With the league table beginning to take shape, every game is becoming increasingly important, and players across the League are continuing to raise the standard week after week. Spectators enjoyed a fantastic evening of netball, filled with close contests, impressive passages of play and strong individual performances.

One of the standout matches of the night saw Beartown Ballers take on Thursday Thunder in an entertaining and competitive fixture. Both teams started brightly and approached the game with plenty of energy and commitment. Beartown Ballers gradually settled into the match well, using strong communication and composed passing to create scoring opportunities throughout the game. Their organised defensive work also helped limit Thursday Thunder’s attacking chances during key moments.

Thursday Thunder continued to battle hard and showed great determination throughout the contest, refusing to let the game slip away easily. However, Beartown Ballers maintained their momentum and secured a well-earned 16-9 victory after a strong all-round team performance. The result reflected the consistency and teamwork they displayed across the court from start to finish.

At the same time, Nets Top Models faced Goal Diggers in another closely contested encounter. Both sides produced an entertaining game filled with attacking intent and end-to-end play. Goal Diggers worked tirelessly throughout the match and continued to apply pressure, making it difficult for their opponents to pull away on the scoreboard. Nets Top Models responded well under pressure, showing composure in key moments and working hard for every goal.

The match remained close throughout, keeping players and spectators fully engaged until the final whistle. In the end, Nets Top Models managed to edge the contest with a narrow 15-13 victory after an excellent team effort. Goal Diggers can also take plenty of positives from their performance, having pushed their opponents all the way in one of the most competitive games of the evening.

Another major talking point from Week 6 was the outstanding performance from Georgina Burt of Bib Sisters, who was deservedly recognised as this week’s Most Valued Player. Georgina impressed throughout the evening with her movement, awareness and positive impact on court. Her strong all-round performance highlighted both her individual quality and the growing confidence within the Bib Sisters team as the season continues. Recognition as Most Valued Player was a fitting reward for the effort and consistency she showed during the night’s fixtures.

As the Congleton Thursday Netball League moves further into the season, the competition continues to grow stronger with every passing week. Teams are building confidence and improving their chemistry on court, while maintaining the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that makes the League such an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Every point and every result is becoming increasingly important as teams look to climb the standings and build momentum heading into the latter stages of the season.

With several exciting weeks still to come, there is plenty for players and supporters to look forward to. The race for the top positions remains open, and performances across the League continue to show the commitment, sportsmanship and enthusiasm of all teams involved. Week 6 provided another excellent showcase of local netball talent, and there is no doubt that more exciting matches and memorable performances are still to come in the weeks ahead.
