Droitwich Tuesday Social Netball Update 9th June

There was a wonderful camaraderie on the court this Tuesday as part of the Back to Netball programme in Droitwich. Laughter echoed throughout the court as players from Dollie Mix, Bottoms Up, Saltway Shooters, Never Too Late, Elegance, and Droitwich Devils joined in the merriment, showcasing their skills on the court.

Every player brought forth their unique style and energy, focusing on the joy of the game rather than the competition. Many goals were scored, but more than that, a plethora of smiles were shared. One such exuberant player was Georgia Tryner from Never Too Late, who was the highlight of this week's session. Georgia, with her infectious energy and positive demeanour, was a beacon of joy on the court, and her contribution to the game was truly commendable.

The night began with a closely contested match between Elegance and Droitwich Devils, with both teams battling hard to the final whistle. It was an evenly matched game throughout, with great passages of play from both sides and plenty of exciting moments for spectators to enjoy but it was Elegance that managed to just edge ahead and earning a 13-11 win.

Next up we had our new team Saltway Shooters face Never Too Late. Although Never Too Late took the win 10-1, it was great to see the Saltway Shooters take to the court after a long time, having lots of fun and showing great promise. Thank you to everyone for making them feel welcome and to those players who helped our new team whilst they are finding their feet and getting established as a full team.

Last up, Dollie Mix faced Bottoms Up in a competitive and fast-paced fixture with Dollie Mix securing the win with a 15–9 score line, but both teams showed excellent effort and skill in what proved to be a very entertaining contest.

In this Back to Netball programme, it's not about winning or losing; it's about fun, fitness, and most importantly, friendship. This week's games were a vivid demonstration of this spirit, and we look forward to more such exciting and joyful matches in the future. So here's to all the wonderful players out there, keep the spirit alive, and remember, it's never too late to get back into the game!
