Leicester Monday night netball - week 3

LEICESTER, UK – Week three of the Leicester Monday netball league delivered another exciting evening of action, with teams continuing to impress as the season gathers pace. Supporters were treated to a number of competitive matches, plenty of great teamwork, and some standout individual performances as players gave their all across the court.

In the League, Fast Break continued their impressive run of form with a confident 11–4 victory over Nets Go Girls. From the opening centre pass, Fast Break showed excellent movement and communication, helping them maintain control throughout the match. Their defensive pressure and sharp shooting proved difficult to contain, allowing them to secure another important win. Despite the result, Nets Go Girls showed plenty of determination and resilience, continuing to battle hard until the final whistle. Their positive attitude and effort throughout the game highlighted the competitive spirit that has been a feature of the league so far this season.

One of the standout fixtures of the evening saw Ellesmere Elites take on Spice Goals in a closely contested encounter that finished 10–10. Both teams matched each other throughout the game, producing an entertaining contest filled with quick passing, strong defending, and impressive shooting displays. Neither side was able to create a decisive advantage, with momentum shifting several times over the course of the match. The draw reflected the effort and quality shown by both teams and was warmly applauded by spectators watching courtside.

The final game of the night featured Pivot And Pass against Court Queens in another lively fixture. Court Queens eventually secured a 22–13 victory after producing some excellent attacking netball and showing strong consistency in front of goal. Their ability to move the ball quickly through the court and convert scoring opportunities proved to be a key factor in the result. Pivot And Pass continued to compete well throughout the match, demonstrating good teamwork and determination against strong opposition.

This week’s Most Valuable Player award went to Terri Chamberlain of Spice Goals following an outstanding individual performance. Terri played a vital role for her side during their hard-fought draw with Ellesmere Elites, showing excellent composure, energy, and consistency across the court. Her contribution was recognised by players and supporters alike, and the award was a fitting reward for her efforts on the night.

As the Leicester Monday netball league continues, teams are beginning to settle into the season, and the competition across the League is becoming increasingly close. Each week has brought entertaining matches and positive team performances, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for players and supporters alike.
