Week 1 of the Hinckley Sunday Netball League got underway at Hinckley Leisure Centre, with teams returning to the court for the start of a new season. Players of all experience levels came together for an enjoyable evening of netball, setting a positive tone for the weeks ahead.

In Division 1, Warrior Queens faced Burbage Ballers in the opening fixture of the evening. Both teams showed good teamwork and commitment throughout the match, producing a competitive contest and getting their campaigns underway.

Shooting Stars then took on Flames in another entertaining encounter. Both sides worked hard across the court, demonstrating strong teamwork and creating plenty of positive play throughout the game.

Division 2 began with Take A Shot facing Hit Me With Your Best Shot. Both teams approached the match with enthusiasm and determination, contributing to an enjoyable fixture played in great spirits.

Shoot For It and Nets Get Into The Groove followed with a competitive contest that showcased the effort and commitment of both teams. Players continued to build confidence as they settled into the opening week of the season.

The final match of the evening saw Pitch Slaps take on Pink Ladies! in a closely contested game. Both teams battled hard throughout, providing an excellent conclusion to the first round of fixtures.

Player of the Week

This week's Most Valued Player award goes to Helen Jaggers from Warrior Queens. Helen delivered an excellent performance, showing great energy, movement, and commitment throughout the evening. Her contribution was recognised by teammates and opponents alike, making her a deserving recipient of the award.

With Week 1 complete, teams will now look ahead to the next round of fixtures as the new season begins to take shape. The league continues to provide a fantastic opportunity for players to stay active, develop their skills, and enjoy competitive netball in a welcoming and supportive environment.
