Kidderminster Sunday night netball - week 2

Play in the Kidderminster Sunday Netball League

Week 2 of the Kidderminster Sunday Netball League delivered another evening of competitive and enjoyable netball, as teams continued to settle into the new season and build on their opening performances. With players growing in confidence and teamwork beginning to shine through, spectators were treated to a number of exciting moments across the league.

One of the most closely contested matches of the night saw 'Take The Shot' take on 'In The Zone' in a game that showcased the determination and commitment of both sides. From the opening whistle, neither team was willing to give an inch, with strong defensive play and well-worked attacking moves keeping the scoreline tight throughout. 'Take The Shot' ultimately came away with an 11-8 victory, but the result was far from straightforward. 'In The Zone' remained competitive throughout the match and created several opportunities of their own, making for an entertaining encounter that could easily have swung either way.

Elsewhere, 'Throwbusters' produced an impressive team performance to secure a 17-4 win over 'Seven Sisters.' The winning side moved the ball effectively and made the most of their chances in front of goal, helping them build a healthy advantage as the game progressed. Despite the challenge they faced, 'Seven Sisters' continued to work hard until the final whistle, showing great spirit and determination. With plenty of the season still to come, they will no doubt be looking to take the positives from this fixture and continue developing in the weeks ahead.

A special mention goes to Katie Hulme of 'In The Zone,' who was named this week's Most Valued Player. Katie delivered an outstanding individual performance, consistently making an impact across the court with her movement, energy, and composure under pressure. Her work rate and positive contribution stood out throughout the evening and earned recognition from players and spectators alike. Performances like Katie's are a reminder of the quality and commitment on display across the league each week.

As the season begins to take shape, it is already clear that the competition is set to be closely fought. Teams are continuing to develop their understanding and build stronger partnerships on court, while individual players are stepping up to make important contributions for their sides. Every point and every result could prove significant as the season progresses, adding extra excitement to each round of fixtures.

While some teams have made a strong start, there is still plenty of netball to be played, and the standings remain far from settled. With improving performances across the league and a great atmosphere surrounding the competition, players and supporters alike can look forward to many more evenings of entertaining action.

Congratulations to all teams who took part in Week 2. The effort, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm shown throughout the night continue to make the Kidderminster Sunday Netball League a fantastic competition to be involved in. We look forward to seeing what Week 3 has in store as teams return eager to build on their performances and continue their journey through what promises to be an exciting season.
