Abergavenny Thursday Week 8 - 14/5/26

Just a little reminder for everyone:

We’d really appreciate everyone helping us keep to our timings. Matches need to start promptly at 7pm and we must be finished and ready to leave the hall by 8:30pm. This is very important as we want to make sure we’re being respectful to our venue.

For the safety of all players, umpires, and spectators, we kindly ask that nobody comes onto the court while games are in play. It can disrupt matches and creates a health and safety issue for everyone involved.

Week 8 of the Abergavenny Thursday Netball league brought another evening of enjoyable matches, great teamwork, and plenty of positive performances across the League division. Teams including The Net-Works, Netty McNet Face, Welsh Rarebits, and Unstoppables all showed fantastic effort and determination on court.

The Net-Works put together a strong team performance against Netty McNet Face, coming away with a 30-3 win. Their passing, movement, and communication helped them maintain a steady rhythm throughout the game, while Netty McNet Face continued to work hard and support one another from start to finish.

Welsh Rarebits and Unstoppables also treated spectators to a closely fought and entertaining match. Both teams created plenty of opportunities, with Welsh Rarebits eventually edging ahead to secure an 11-8 victory in a game that stayed competitive throughout.

A special congratulations goes to Amy Whitcombe from Netty McNet Face, who was named Most Valued Player of the week. Amy’s energy, determination, and positive attitude stood out on court, and she made a brilliant contribution for her team throughout the match.

With just two weeks left in the season, teams will be looking forward to finishing strongly and enjoying the final rounds of fixtures together. The league continues to showcase excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, and enthusiasm each week, and there is still plenty of exciting netball to come before the season concludes.
