Week nine of the Abergavenny Thursday Netball League delivered another enjoyable evening of competitive but friendly netball, with all teams showing great effort, teamwork, and determination throughout the matches. Spectators were treated to plenty of entertaining moments and some excellent performances across the court!
Welsh Rarebits produced a confident and well-organised performance in their 14–6 win over Netty McNet Face. Both teams battled hard throughout the game, but the Rarebits’ strong communication, accurate passing, and steady movement around the court helped them build momentum as the match progressed. Netty McNet Face continued to work tirelessly and showed great resilience, creating opportunities and maintaining their positive energy until the final whistle.
The Net-Works also enjoyed a successful evening, securing an 18–3 victory over Headliners. The match featured some excellent teamwork, with The Net-Works moving the ball smoothly through the court and supporting each other well in both attack and defence. Headliners kept fighting throughout the game, showing determination and teamwork while continuing to create chances and encourage one another from start to finish.
One of the standout moments of the week came from Katie Hodgkinson of Unstoppables, who was deservedly named Most Valued Player of the Week. Katie impressed with her sharp movement, quick decision-making, and consistent work rate around the court. Her positive attitude and commitment were clear to see, and her performance made a big contribution to her team’s efforts on the night.
As the league now looks ahead to week ten, excitement continues to build for another round of fun, friendly, and competitive netball. With every team continuing to improve and support one another each week, the season is shaping up to be an enjoyable one for players and supporters alike.
