Kettering Sunday Social Netball League – Week 9 Round-Up

Week 9 of the Kettering Sunday Social Netball League took place at Latimer Arts College, with teams continuing their push towards the latter stages of the season. Another competitive evening of netball saw players take to the court looking to secure important results, with two matches providing plenty of action and effort throughout.

As the league enters its final weeks, every game continues to play an important role in shaping the standings, and teams once again demonstrated strong commitment and determination across the evening's fixtures.

League Results

Ghostbusters 15–1 Goal Diggers

The opening match of the evening saw Ghostbusters produce a strong performance to defeat Goal Diggers 15–1.

Ghostbusters settled into the game quickly and established control through disciplined defensive work and effective movement through the court. Their ability to create and convert scoring opportunities allowed them to steadily build a commanding lead.

Goal Diggers continued to work hard throughout the match and showed resilience despite facing a difficult opponent. They continued to compete until the final whistle and will look to take positives from the performance as they prepare for their next fixture.

The result strengthens Ghostbusters' position as they continue their campaign with another important victory.

Hoop Stars 5–2 The Power Passers

The second fixture of the evening saw Hoop Stars take on The Power Passers in a closely contested encounter.

Defences were on top for much of the game, making scoring opportunities difficult to come by. Both teams worked tirelessly across the court, resulting in a competitive match where every goal proved important.

Hoop Stars managed to edge ahead and maintain their advantage as the game progressed, eventually securing a 5–2 victory. The Power Passers remained in contention throughout and produced a determined performance, but Hoop Stars did enough to claim the points.

Most Valued Player

Congratulations to Emma Vidaurri from Kiss My Pass, who was named Week 9's Most Valued Player.

Emma's performances and contribution throughout the evening earned recognition from across the league. Her movement, work rate and positive attitude stood out, while her commitment on court made her a deserving recipient of this week's MVP award.

Week 9 Summary

Week 9 featured a mixture of high-scoring and tightly contested matches, with Ghostbusters and Hoop Stars both recording valuable wins. Ghostbusters delivered one of their strongest performances of the season, while Hoop Stars demonstrated their ability to grind out a result in a competitive defensive battle.

With only a limited number of fixtures remaining, teams will now be focused on finishing the season strongly and building momentum heading into the final rounds. Every point becomes increasingly important at this stage of the campaign, and the competition remains closely fought across the league.

Attention now turns to Week 10, where teams will once again battle for points and look to continue their progress as the season approaches its conclusion.
