Week 11 of the Droylsden Thursday Netball League’s Division brought another enjoyable evening of netball, with plenty of great teamwork, positive energy, and impressive moments across all matches.
Our first match of the night saw The Headliners take on Zero Chill, with The Headliners coming away with a 13–3 win. They settled into the game quickly and showed good control through the court, linking passes well and making the most of their opportunities in the shooting circle. Zero Chill kept working hard throughout, showing determination in defence and continuing to push forward, creating chances and supporting each other right until the final whistle.
The Lionesses also put in a really composed performance against Kiss My Pass, finishing 14–5. Their communication was a real highlight, helping them move the ball confidently down the court and maintain possession. Kiss My Pass showed great effort and resilience, working tirelessly to create openings and applying pressure, particularly in the defensive third.
Pivot Grigio had a strong and well-organised game against Get Net Or Die Tryin, taking a 22–4 result. They grew into the match as it progressed, with smooth transitions through the centre court and consistent finishing under the post. Get Net Or Die Tryin continued to battle throughout, showing good spirit and moments of promise as they looked to build their play and support one another across the court.
Thunderstruck and Ctrl Alt Defeat shared a really engaging game, with both teams creating chances and keeping the scoreline close for much of the match. Thunderstruck gradually found their rhythm to take a 16–10 win, but it was a great contest from start to finish.
A special mention goes to Zero Chill’s Christie Steele, who was named Player of the Week. Her movement, awareness, and positivity on court stood out, and she made a big impact for her team from start to finish.
Overall, it was another great week that highlighted not just the results, but the teamwork, encouragement, and spirit that make the league such an enjoyable place to play. With more matches ahead, it’s lovely to see players continuing to support one another and grow in confidence each week.
