Droylsden Thursday Week 12 - 23/4/26

Our umpires may occasionally ask players to swap positions during a match if things feel a little imbalanced. This helps keep games enjoyable and fair for both sides. It’s all part of making sure everyone has a positive experience on court, so we really appreciate your understanding and teamwork! Thanks for helping keep the league fun and friendly for all!

Week 12 of the Droylsden Thursday Netball League brought another enjoyable evening of netball, with plenty of close contests and great team performances as the season begins to wind down. With just two weeks remaining, there’s a real sense of excitement building as teams continue to support each other and give their all on court.

The Headliners took on Pivot Grigio in a challenging match, with Pivot Grigio putting together a strong and confident performance to come away with a 32–6 win. Despite the scoreline, both teams showed great effort and determination throughout.

One of the closest games of the night saw Ctrl Alt Defeat edge past Lionesses in a tightly fought 3–2 match. It was a brilliant example of defensive teamwork and patience from both sides, with every goal hard-earned.

Thunderstruck and Zero Chill also delivered an entertaining game, with Thunderstruck just managing to pull ahead 7–4. It was a well-matched contest where both teams created opportunities and kept the pressure on until the final whistle.

Kiss My Pass and Get Net Or Die Tryin gave spectators plenty to enjoy in a lively and competitive match, ending 11–9 in favour of Kiss My Pass. Both teams showed great teamwork and attacking play, making it one of the standout games of the evening.

A special mention goes to Angela Coyne of Get Net Or Die Tryin, who was named Most Valued Player of the week. Her consistent effort, positive attitude, and skill on court made a real difference for her team and didn’t go unnoticed.

As the season heads into its final weeks, teams are continuing to build momentum, encourage one another, and enjoy the spirit of the game. With standings still taking shape, there’s plenty to look forward to as everyone finishes the season on a high.
