Thrilling Start to Maesteg Thursday Netball League Season!
The first official week of the Premier League division in the Maesteg Thursday Netball league made a spectacular debut last night. The enthralling night saw the teams Shot Callers, Cherry Bombs, Moving And Grooving, In Control and Net-Stars battling it out on the court.
The Cherry Bombs got off to a great start in their opening game, putting in a confident performance to win 25–5 against the Shot Callers. Their smart play and good teamwork set a positive tone for the division. The Shot Callers, despite the result, showed lots of promise and determination, and there’s plenty to build on in the coming weeks.
Over on the other court, In Control also had a strong game, earning a 17–6 win over Moving And Grooving. That said, Moving And Grooving brought great energy and team spirit, showing some really nice moments of skill and working hard right to the end.
Highlighting the night was the performance of Darcy Cox from In Control, who was awarded the title of the Most Valued Player of the week. Cox's exceptional performance was instrumental in leading their team to victory, setting a high standard for the rest of the season.
As the teams regroup and strategize for the next week, there is anticipation in the air. Supporters are looking forward to the continuation of this high-energy competition, and if the first week is anything to go by, the forthcoming season of the Maesteg Thursday Netball Premier League promises to be an exciting one.
Just a quick reminder for everyone: please make sure all jewellery is removed before playing, and if you have long nails, gloves are required. Any gloves are fine, or they can be purchased from our online shop. These rules are in place to help keep everyone safe on court, so we really appreciate your co-operation.
Stay tuned for more updates, until then, let's keep the ball rolling!
