Last Thursday evening, the Maesteg Sports Centre was brimming with vibrant energy and camaraderie, marking the sixth week of a truly enjoyable season of social netball. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with players ranging from beginners to more seasoned participants all sharing the court in a fantastic display of netball's inclusive spirit.
The first match of the evening saw Net-Stars play against In Control. The game ended with Net-Stars scoring a total of 12 goals to In Control's 3. Despite the point difference, the game was played with such positive energy and sportsmanship that the score was merely incidental to the enjoyment of the participants. Both teams demonstrated a pleasing commitment to teamwork and fair play.
The second match featured Moving And Grooving against Shot Callers. The final whistle saw Moving And Grooving with a score of 8, and Shot Callers with 3. The game was filled with enthusiasm and great spirit, with all players showcasing their love for the game and mutual respect for their fellow players.
A special mention must be made for Catrin Rowlands from Moving And Grooving, who was named the Most Valued Player of the week. Catrin's exceptional movement around the court, teamed with her infectious enthusiasm, was a sight to behold. Both her teammates and opponents alike appreciated her positive contribution to the great atmosphere on the court.
Looking ahead, Week 7 promises to bring yet another evening of friendly social netball.
