The Stratford Upon Avon Thursday Netball got off to a fantastic start this week, with teams bringing plenty of energy, teamwork, and enthusiasm to the opening round of the new season.
Vale Queens began their campaign with a strong 17-9 win over D Linquents in an entertaining match. Both teams showed great commitment throughout, while Vale Queens combined solid defending with confident attacking play to secure the victory.
The Shooters also enjoyed a successful start to the season, earning a 17-12 win against Meon Warriors. It was a closely contested game at times, with both sides producing some excellent passages of play and showcasing plenty of attacking quality.
One of the standout matches of the evening came between The Chillies and Netchix, who played out an exciting 21-21 draw. The game was full of momentum swings and impressive shooting, with both teams battling hard right up until the final whistle in a thoroughly entertaining contest.
A special mention goes to Carolyn Stacey of The Chillies, who was named Most Valued Player of the week. Carolyn delivered an excellent all-round performance, demonstrating great composure, skill, and leadership on court.
After an exciting opening week, the Stratford Upon Avon Thursday Netball is already shaping up to be a brilliant season, with teams making strong starts and plenty more exciting matches still to come.
