Congratulations to Hot Shots on being crowned champions of this season’s Moulton Monday Netball League, and well done to Queen Bees for finishing as worthy runners-up. A special congratulations also goes to Millie Gyau of Rebound Rebels, who was named this season’s Most Valuable Player following a series of outstanding performances throughout the competition.
After ten weeks of exciting, competitive and enjoyable netball, the Moulton Monday league came to a thrilling conclusion yesterday evening, with teams battling hard right until the final whistle of the season. The league once again showcased the growing strength of local netball, bringing together players of all abilities in a welcoming and highly competitive environment.
Throughout the season, every team demonstrated incredible determination, teamwork and sportsmanship, producing a number of closely contested fixtures and memorable moments. Supporters were treated to fast-paced matches each week, with plenty of dramatic finishes, impressive individual displays and excellent team performances across the league.
Hot Shots ultimately secured the league title after an exceptional campaign that saw them dominate the standings for much of the season. Their consistency, strong attacking play and solid defensive performances helped them record nine victories from ten matches, finishing the season on an impressive 18 points. Week after week, the team showed resilience and composure under pressure, proving themselves deserving champions by maintaining high standards throughout the competition.
Queen Bees also enjoyed an excellent season and pushed the title race all the way to the closing stages. Their teamwork and determination were evident across every fixture, and they finished as deserved runners-up after a number of strong performances over the ten-week campaign. The squad consistently demonstrated quality and competitiveness, making them one of the standout teams of the season.
The final week of fixtures provided an exciting end to the league, with all teams eager to finish their campaigns on a high. Hot Shots sealed their successful season with a hard-fought 11–5 victory over Goal Diggers in a competitive and closely fought contest. Goal Diggers battled throughout the match and showed great determination, but Hot Shots once again proved clinical in key moments to secure the win.
Elsewhere, Pass N Pivot produced one of their strongest performances of the season to earn a convincing 13–7 victory against Rebound Rebels. The team moved the ball confidently through court and capitalised on their opportunities in attack to finish their season positively. Rebound Rebels continued to show excellent effort and energy throughout the game despite the result, reflecting the commitment they have displayed all season long.
Queen Bees also ended their impressive campaign in style with an entertaining 15–11 win over Passalona. Both teams played with intensity and determination, producing a fast-paced and enjoyable match for spectators. Queen Bees’ attacking movement and teamwork proved decisive as they secured another important victory to close out the season.
Individual performances were recognised at the end of the campaign, with the Most Valuable Player award presented to Millie Gyau of Rebound Rebels. Millie consistently impressed throughout the season with her commitment, attitude and performances on court. Her energy, leadership and influence during matches made her a standout player within the league, and the award was thoroughly deserved. Her contribution played a major role in Rebound Rebels’ season and she was widely respected by teammates, opponents and supporters alike.
As another successful season comes to a close, players, coaches, officials and supporters celebrated the continued success of the Moulton Monday Netball League. The league has once again provided an enjoyable opportunity for teams to compete, improve and socialise in a positive sporting environment. The standard of competition across all fixtures highlighted the passion and enthusiasm for netball within the local community.
