Play in the Moulton Monday Netball League
The Moulton Monday Netball League continued with an exciting second week of action, as teams took to the court looking to build early momentum in the season. Across the League, players showcased excellent teamwork, accurate passing, strong defensive pressure, and confident shooting, making for an enjoyable evening of competitive netball.
One of the closest contests of the night saw Passalona secure a hard-fought 13-11 victory over Goal Diggers. Both teams demonstrated excellent determination throughout the match, with possession frequently changing hands as defenders battled for interceptions and attackers worked tirelessly to create space in the shooting circle. Passalona were able to make the most of their opportunities in key moments, helping them edge ahead in a closely contested fixture.
A standout performer in the match was Sofie Osmani of Passalona, who was deservedly named Most Valued Player of the week. Sofie's influence could be seen across the court, with her movement, positioning, and decision-making helping to drive her team forward. Whether supporting attacking phases or contributing to transitions through the court, she consistently made a positive impact and played an important role in her side's success.
Elsewhere, Queen Bees delivered an impressive all-round performance to record a 26-4 victory against Rebound Rebels. Queen Bees moved the ball confidently through all thirds of the court, demonstrating excellent communication and understanding between players. Their attacking combinations created numerous scoring opportunities, while their defensive unit applied constant pressure, making it difficult for Rebound Rebels to establish sustained possession. The result reflected a strong team effort and highlighted the quality of netball Queen Bees are capable of producing.
Hot Shots also enjoyed a successful evening, overcoming Pass N Pivot by a score of 20-9. Hot Shots showed excellent composure in possession, linking defence to attack effectively and converting their chances efficiently in the shooting circle. Their movement off the ball and ability to maintain possession under pressure proved particularly effective. Pass N Pivot continued to work hard throughout the match, showing determination and resilience against a strong opponent.
Across all fixtures, the quality of netball continued to shine through. Strong defensive contests, accurate feeding into the circle, intelligent movement, and confident shooting all contributed to an evening that highlighted the growing strength of the competition. As teams become more familiar with one another and partnerships continue to develop on court, the standard of play continues to improve each week.
With only two weeks completed, there is still plenty to play for, and every point earned could prove important as the season unfolds. Teams will be looking to build consistency, strengthen combinations, and continue their development as they prepare for the next round of fixtures.
Congratulations to Sofie Osmani on being named Most Valued Player of the week, and well done to Passalona, Goal Diggers, Queen Bees, Rebound Rebels, Hot Shots, and Pass N Pivot for their efforts and performances. We look forward to another fantastic evening of netball in the Moulton Monday Netball League next week.
