Play in the Nottingham Thursday netball league
The seventh week of the Nottingham Thursday Netball League delivered another fantastic evening of competitive and enjoyable matches, with all teams showing great energy, teamwork and determination throughout the night. As the season continues to progress, every fixture is becoming increasingly important, and players are continuing to grow in confidence and cohesion on court. Spectators were treated to several entertaining contests, with plenty of impressive passages of play, strong defensive performances and well-worked team moves across the evening.
The opening match saw Amazeballs take on Trent Tricksters in a lively and competitive game. Amazeballs made a positive start and worked hard to keep the pressure on early in the match, showing good movement and communication across the court. However, Trent Tricksters gradually settled into the game and began to find more consistency with their passing and finishing. Their teamwork and composure helped them pull away in the latter stages, eventually securing a well-earned 10-5 victory.
A standout performer in the match was Clare Powers of Trent Tricksters, whose excellent all-round display helped guide her side to the win. Her movement, awareness and positive influence around the court made a real difference throughout the game, earning her the well-deserved title of Most Valued Player for the week. Clare’s performance reflected the strong team spirit and determination that Trent Tricksters have continued to demonstrate this season.
The second fixture of the evening featured Hoopsy Daisy against The Cosmic Creepers. Both sides approached the game with great enthusiasm, but The Cosmic Creepers quickly found a strong rhythm and produced an impressive attacking display. Their movement through the court and ability to create scoring opportunities allowed them to build momentum as the game progressed. Hoopsy Daisy continued to battle hard and showed plenty of resilience, but The Cosmic Creepers maintained control to secure a 15-8 victory. It was another strong team performance from the Creepers, who continue to grow in confidence with each passing week.
The final game of the night saw Net Assets face The Bibberinos in what proved to be a closely contested and entertaining encounter. Both teams worked tirelessly from start to finish, with the match remaining competitive throughout. Net Assets showed plenty of determination and fought hard to stay within touching distance, while The Bibberinos displayed strong teamwork and composure in key moments. In the end, The Bibberinos managed to edge ahead and claim a 9-6 win after a well-balanced team performance.
Week seven once again highlighted the positive atmosphere and competitive spirit that make the Nottingham Thursday Netball League such an enjoyable part of the week for so many players. Teams are continuing to improve with every round of fixtures, and it has been great to see players encouraging one another and enjoying the social side of the league alongside the competition.
With several weeks of the season still remaining, there is plenty left to play for and many exciting matches still to come. Every team has continued to show commitment and enthusiasm each week, and spectators can look forward to more entertaining netball as the league table continues to take shape. Trent Tricksters and this week’s Most Valued Player Clare Powers will certainly be among the teams and players to watch as the season moves forward.
