Play in the Gloucester Sunday You Play netball league
Week five of the Gloucester Sunday netball league delivered another exciting evening of competitive action, with teams across the League producing strong performances, entertaining contests, and plenty of memorable moments. As the season continues to develop, every fixture is becoming increasingly important, and this week once again showcased the enthusiasm, teamwork, and quality that have been on display throughout the campaign so far.
Players and supporters were treated to a fantastic atmosphere across the evening, with each match played in excellent spirit and full of determination from start to finish. The League continues to provide an enjoyable and competitive environment for all teams involved, with every side contributing to another successful round of fixtures.
The opening game of the night saw Net Ninjas take on Ball Busters in a fast-paced and entertaining encounter. Both teams showed great energy throughout the match, but Ball Busters ultimately secured a strong 12-5 victory after producing an organised and confident performance. Their movement around the court and ability to create scoring opportunities helped them maintain control during key stages of the game.
Despite the result, Net Ninjas continued to battle hard throughout the match and showed plenty of positive moments. A standout performer for the side was Sophie Butcher, who was deservedly named the week’s Most Valued Player. Sophie impressed throughout the game with her work rate, composure, and overall contribution on court. Her positive attitude and determination stood out across the evening, making her a worthy recipient of the award.
Another exciting fixture saw Goal Diggers face Pitch Slap in a highly competitive contest. Both teams demonstrated strong attacking play and excellent teamwork, creating an entertaining match for everyone watching. Pitch Slap eventually came away with a 13-7 victory after maintaining consistent pressure and making the most of their opportunities in front of goal.
Goal Diggers continued to compete positively throughout the game and showed resilience despite facing a strong opponent. Their effort and teamwork remained evident from start to finish, contributing to another enjoyable and closely fought fixture.
The final match of the evening between Ball Of Fame and Throw and Go provided another excellent contest to round off the night. The game remained competitive throughout, with both sides producing strong passages of play and working tirelessly across the court. Throw and Go eventually secured an 11-8 victory after a composed and disciplined performance in key moments of the match.
Ball Of Fame continued to push until the final whistle and can take many positives from their performance, while Throw and Go will be pleased with another valuable result as the season continues.
Across all fixtures this week, players from every team contributed to another high-quality evening of netball. The standard of competition within the League continues to grow, with teams showing excellent commitment, sportsmanship, and determination every Sunday.
As the season progresses, attention now turns towards the next round of fixtures, where teams will continue looking to build momentum and climb the League standings. With so many closely matched teams competing each week, there are sure to be many more exciting games and standout performances still to come.
