Thrilling Start to the Bridgend Sunday Netball League
The week one of the Bridgend Sunday 7 a side netball league has set an electrifying pace for the rest of the season. The newly commenced season was off to a flying start last night with teams in Division 1 showcasing their prowess in a series of hard-fought matches.
Kicking off the action, the Net Ninjas faced a tough match against the Coity Cobras. It was a breath-taking duel that saw the Cobras outmaneuvering the Ninjas with a final score of 14 - 9. The cobras slithered away with their first victory, leaving the Ninjas to regroup for next week's game.
In another riveting encounter, the Netballerz were kept at bay by Game Of Throws, who played well thoughout with an 8 - 2 win. Netballerz, though they put up a spirited fight, fell short against the more assertive Game Of Throws.
In the most closely contested match of the evening, Goals Aloud edged a narrow victory over Goal Patrol, ending the match 6 - 4. It was an open-ended game that could've gone either way, but Goals Aloud hung on for a well-deserved win.
The standout star of the opening week was no doubt, Jess Ryall of Baywatch Ballers. Ryall's incredible performance was instrumental in her team's play, earning her the title of Most Valued Player. Her tenacity and dynamism on the court were undeniable, making her one to watch this season.
