The warm, inviting atmosphere of Perdiswell Leisure Centre was abuzz with activity as Week 6 of the social netball season unfolded in an evening of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and friendly competition. Players of all experience levels came together to participate in the delightful games, creating an environment that was both welcoming and vibrant.
The opening game of the evening saw Court Queens and Wildcats in action. Court Queens displayed an exceptional level of teamwork, finishing the game with a score of 15-9. The Wildcats, though not on the winning side, were filled with energy and commitment, making it an enjoyable game played in great spirit.
The next match featured Worcester Sauces and Manic Mondays. With the final score of 14-8 in favor of Manic Mondays, both teams exhibited sportsmanship and positive energy that was contagious. Worcester Sauces, despite the scoreline, remained high in spirit, demonstrating an inspiring level of commitment.
Goal Bladders and Hot Shots put on a thrilling show, with the former team finishing with an impressive score of 12-5. Both teams showed exemplary sportsmanship and a strong sense of camaraderie.
In Division 2, No Direction and Worcester Ladies took to the court. No Direction ended the game with 19-9, showcasing excellent teamwork and energy. Worcester Ladies, although they did not win, played with great spirit and enthusiasm.
Worcester Wonders and Weakest Link provided a close match in Division 2. The final score was 9-6 to Weakest Link, but both teams demonstrated a spirit of friendly competition and great sportsmanship.
In the final match of the evening, Perdiswell Shooters played against The Oak Apple Catchers. The game ended with a score of 12-6 in favour of The Oak Apple Catchers. Despite the numbers, it was clear that everyone was there for the joy of the game and the spirit of friendly competition.
A special mention must go to Most Valued Player of the week, Hannah Perkins from Perdiswell Shooters. Hannah's enthusiasm for the game, excellent movement around the court, and positive contribution did not go unnoticed. Her performance was appreciated by teammates and opponents alike, who commended her for her sportsmanship and commitment.
As we look ahead to Week 7, the anticipation is building for another evening of friendly social netball. This is not just about keeping fit, it's about meeting new people, developing netball skills and enjoying the game in a supportive and friendly environment.
