Week 1 of the Rugeley Tuesday Netball League got underway at Rugeley Leisure Centre, with teams returning to the court for the start of a new season. Players of all experience levels came together for an enjoyable evening of netball, creating a positive atmosphere and an excellent start to the campaign.

The evening began with The Original Lions taking on Phoenix Reds in a competitive opening fixture. Both teams demonstrated strong teamwork and commitment throughout the match, producing an entertaining contest and setting the tone for the season ahead.

Rugeley Warriors then faced Rockets in the second game of the evening. Both sides worked hard across the court, displaying determination, organisation, and teamwork throughout a closely contested encounter. The match reflected the friendly and competitive spirit of the league.

The third fixture saw Rugeley Roses take on Rugeley Divas. Both teams approached the game with enthusiasm and energy, contributing to an enjoyable contest played in excellent spirits. The effort and commitment shown by all players highlighted the positive environment of the league.

The final match of the evening featured Rugeley Rebels against Rugeley Rangers. Both teams demonstrated strong teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the game, bringing an entertaining evening of netball to a successful conclusion.

Player of the Week

This week's Most Valued Player award goes to Charlotte McNaughton from Rugeley Warriors. Charlotte delivered an excellent performance, demonstrating great movement, enthusiasm, and commitment throughout the evening. Her contribution was recognised by teammates and opponents alike, making her a deserving recipient of the award.

With Week 1 complete, teams will now look ahead to the next round of fixtures as the new season begins to take shape. The league provides a fantastic opportunity for players to stay active, develop their skills, and enjoy competitive netball in a welcoming and supportive environment.
