Great Start to the Ilkeston Wednesday Netball Season

The Ilkeston Wednesday Netball got off to a fantastic start last night, with teams bringing plenty of energy and enthusiasm to the opening round. It was a great introduction to what promises to be an enjoyable season ahead.

Victorious Secret and Netballerz kicked things off with a closely contested 9–7 match. Both teams showed strong teamwork and skill throughout, making it an exciting and evenly matched game, with Victorious Secret just taking the win.

Stealing Passes also made a strong impression in their match against Pivot And Pass, securing a 33–7 victory. Their teamwork, movement, and shooting accuracy were on full display, giving them a confident start to the season.

There were also some standout individual performances across the night. Lauren Porter from Spice Goals was named Most Valued Player of the week, thanks to her excellent all-round contribution and positive impact on her team’s performance. Her energy and game awareness made her a key player to watch.

With the first round complete, teams have set a great foundation for the weeks ahead. Victorious Secret and Stealing Passes lead the way as early top scorers, but with plenty of matches still to come, there’s lots to look forward to as the season unfolds.

Overall, it was a brilliant start, and the upcoming fixtures promise more great netball and team spirit.
