It was another glorious week of Social Netball matches in Ilkeston, filled with all the joy and camaraderie that the sport brings. The Back to Netball programme, ever popular among our netball enthusiasts, brought together scores of players who were eager to embrace the thrill of the game.
This week, the teams took to the court to recreate the magic of past games and, more importantly, have a terrific time. The games were nothing short of exciting, with teams Netballerz and Pivot And Pass showing a fantastic exchange of skill and sportsmanship. Pivot And Pass had a great time on the court, with a score of 13 over Netballerz's 5.
Equally, the game between Victorious Secret and Spice Goals was a stirring display of true netball spirit, with Victorious Secret netting 20 goals to Spice Goals' 13. The numbers, however, were secondary to the sheer joy of playing, catching up with old friends, and making some new ones.
A special shout-out goes to our remarkable player of the session, Becky Eyre of Pivot And Pass. A marvel on the court, Becky truly embodies the values of fun, fitness, and friendship that Back to Netball stands for. Her positive contribution was not just in scoring goals, but also in her enthusiastic spirit and infectious love for the game.
In the spirit of celebration, not competition, we are delighted to share that Victorious Secret topped the goals list with 20 fabulous goals in their game. Rather than a testament to skill, this is a reflection of the team's unwavering commitment to fun and fitness.
In the end, everyone came away from the matches with smiles on their faces. It was another fantastic week of netball - a reminder that it’s not about winning or losing, but about the love of the game and the friendships forged on the court. We can’t wait for next week’s games to continue the fun!
