Kettering Wednesday night - week 1

Play in the Kettering Wednesday Netball League

Kettering – The new season of the Kettering Wednesday Netball League got off to a lively and entertaining start last night, with teams across the League producing competitive performances, impressive teamwork, and plenty of exciting moments on court. Players returned full of energy for the opening round of fixtures, setting an encouraging tone for the weeks ahead.

One of the standout performances of the evening came from Hoop Troopers, who began their campaign with a confident 10 - 2 victory over The Vixens. Hoop Troopers looked organised from the first whistle, moving the ball effectively through the court and creating a number of strong scoring opportunities. The Vixens continued to battle throughout the match and showed determination in defence, but Hoop Troopers maintained control to secure an excellent opening result.

Netspressos also made a positive impression in their first outing of the season, earning an 8 - 3 win against NET2HOLIDAYS. Both teams worked hard across the court, but Netspressos were able to build momentum through accurate passing and composed finishing in key moments. NET2HOLIDAYS showed plenty of promise and will no doubt look to build on their performance in the coming weeks.

Perhaps the closest and most competitive fixture of the evening saw One Hoop Wonders narrowly edge Hustlers in a thrilling 5 - 4 encounter. The match remained close throughout, with both teams exchanging goals and defensive stops in a tense battle that kept players and spectators engaged until the final whistle. Hustlers can take plenty of positives from a strong performance, while One Hoop Wonders will be pleased to start the season with a hard-earned win.

Court In The Act enjoyed a strong start to their season with a 10 - 5 victory over Net Profits in another entertaining match. Court In The Act showed good movement around the court and worked well together as a team, allowing them to gradually build a lead as the game progressed. Net Profits continued to compete well and produced several encouraging passages of play despite the result.

The highest-scoring performance of the night came from Wingin It, who produced an impressive attacking display in their 17 - 3 win against Ghostbusters. Wingin It played with confidence throughout the match, creating chances consistently and converting opportunities effectively. Ghostbusters continued to work hard and remained committed from start to finish against a very strong attacking side.

This week's Most Valued Player award was presented to Louise Bruce from Hustlers. Despite her team's narrow defeat, Louise delivered an outstanding individual performance and was recognised for her effort, leadership, and impact on the game throughout the evening.

With the first round of matches now complete, excitement is already building for week two as teams look to continue their positive starts or bounce back with strong performances. Early signs suggest the Kettering Wednesday League is set for another enjoyable and competitive season filled with close contests, great team spirit, and plenty of memorable moments on court.
