In a thrilling start to the new season of the Bristol Wednesday Netball league, premier division teams showcased their skills, demonstrating why they belong in the top-tier of the competition. Stakes were high, enthusiasm was palpable and the level of play was nothing short of spectacular.
The Premier League division kicked off the season with intense matches. Shes A Keeper faced off against Avon Vixens in a tight game, ending with Avon Vixens edging out their opponents with a 4-2 victory. Despite the loss, Shes A Keeper showed promise, offering fierce competition and earning their place in the Premier League.
The second game was a high scoring affair between Pass Perfect and Bristol Belles. The two teams battled it out in a thrilling back-and-forth match, with Pass Perfect ultimately taking away the win with a score of 11-7.
Net A Clue had a tense face off against Odd Balls, the match was nail-biting, but Odd Balls clinched the victory with a one-point lead at 5-4.
However, the highlight of the week was Stacey Rawlings of the Bristol Belles. Her incredible performance on the court earned her the title of the most valued player of the week. Rawlings proved to be a standout amongst her peers, demonstrating exceptional talent and leadership.
With the season just getting underway, the Premier League division is already shaping up to be highly competitive. All teams showed great promise in their opening week matches, and it will be interesting to see how they fare as the season progresses.
