Buxton Thursday Netball League - Week 8

On a crisp Thursday evening, Week 8 of the social netball season, St Thomas More Catholic Academy buzzed with the electricity of friendly competition. The atmosphere was both inviting and convivial, with players of all experience levels eagerly participating in a night of great netball camaraderie.

The first match of the evening saw the Pointer Sisters against Buxton Ballers. Both teams displayed remarkable teamwork and commitment, keeping the spectators on the edge of their seats. Buxton Ballers edged out the game with a score of 17-5. Despite the scoreline, the game was played in high spirits and the positive energy was palpable.

Next, Rock N Goal went head-to-head with Buxton Babes. The scoreline read 14-7 in favour of Rock N Goal by the end of the match. Both teams showed commendable sportsmanship and played an enjoyable game that was a testament to their dedication.

The final face-off, between Shooting Stars and Spring Into Action, ended with a close score of 9-7. Spring Into Action pulled through with a win, but not without a great display of team spirit and collaboration from Shooting Stars.

A standout player of the evening was the Most Valued Player from the Buxton Ballers. Their enthusiasm was contagious, their movement around the court exceptional, and their positive contribution did not go unnoticed by teammates and opponents alike.

Looking ahead, Week 9 promises another evening of friendly social netball. It's not just about the competition, it's about keeping active, meeting new people, and developing netball skills in a supportive environment. Our community club looks forward to welcoming back all players for another great night of netball at St Thomas More Catholic Academy. With the existing camaraderie and sportsmanship, there's no doubt that it will be another enjoyable night for all.
