Leicester Wednesday Netball Update 20th May

The Leicester Wednesday Netball got its new season underway with a fantastic evening of action across both divisions, as teams returned to the court full of energy, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit.

In Division 1, Natterjacks and Nets Top Models opened their campaigns with a closely contested match that kept everyone engaged right until the final whistle. Nets Top Models narrowly secured a 10–9 victory after an entertaining game that showcased great teamwork and determination from both sides. Elsewhere, Seagrave Squirrels made a strong start to the season with an 11–8 win over Shooting Stars in another competitive and fast-paced encounter.

Division 2 also produced some excellent performances, with Birstall Bluebirds beginning their season on a positive note thanks to a 10–7 win against Court Queens. Jessica Pearson of Birstall Bluebirds was the standout player of the evening, earning this week’s Most Valued Player award for her impressive all-round performance and strong presence on court.

In the other Division 2 fixture, Wreake Havoc delivered a confident team display to secure a 12–5 victory over Give Us A Shot, making an encouraging start to their season.

It was an exciting opening week, with every team showing plenty of promise and setting the tone for what looks to be a highly enjoyable season ahead. 

With so many positive performances already on display, the Leicester Wednesday Netball looks set for another brilliant season filled with teamwork, sportsmanship, and plenty of exciting matches to come.
