On a brisk evening at The Oxford Academy, Week 3 of the social netball season brought together players of all walks of life, united by their passion for the sport. The welcoming atmosphere was alive with laughter, cheers, and friendly competition, as both seasoned players and newcomers delivered an exciting night of netball.
The first match of the evening saw Shooting Stars competing against Cant Touch This. In a display that highlighted teamwork above all, Shooting Stars completed the game with an impressive score of 18-2. Despite the scoreline, both teams exhibited commendable sportsmanship and positive energy, making it a thoroughly enjoyable game to watch.
The second match of the night featured Nets Go To The Pub and the Court Queens. In an engaging display of commitment, Nets Go To The Pub achieved a score of 17-4. In the spirit of friendly competition, both teams demonstrated excellent cooperation and sportsmanship, ensuring the game was played in high spirits.
Special mention needs to be made for our Most Valued Player of the week, Lauren Sampson from Nets Go To The Pub. Lauren's enthusiasm and movement around the court were truly exceptional, and her positive contribution was appreciated by teammates and opponents alike. Her dedication to the game and positive attitude truly embodied the spirit of our social netball community.
As we look ahead to Week 4, we eagerly anticipate another evening of friendly, social netball. It’s not just about keeping active, it’s about meeting new people, developing your netball skills, and being part of a supportive and inclusive community. Back to Netball is all about having fun, making friends, and enjoying the spirit of the game, regardless of the scoreline. We look forward to seeing you next week at The Oxford Academy for another night of camaraderie and netball.
