Play in the Winsford Wednesday You Play Netball League
The final week of the current season took place in the Winsford Wednesday You Play Netball League, bringing another enjoyable evening of netball to a close as part of the Back to Netball programme.
Before the matches got underway, it was time to celebrate the season's top performers. Congratulations to Clued Up In Pink, who finished the season as league champions, and to Shoots and Giggles, who secured the runners-up spot after a strong campaign. A special congratulations also goes to Natalie Curzon, who was crowned the Most Valued Player of the Season in recognition of her commitment, consistency, and contribution throughout the season.
The final round of fixtures saw teams take to the court for one last opportunity to enjoy competitive netball before the start of the next season. Throughout the evening, players demonstrated the teamwork, determination, and positive attitude that have been evident across the league all season.
Among the standout fixtures were Clued Up In Pink against Underdogs and Fast and Furious against Throw & Behold. Both matches showcased excellent effort from all teams involved, with players continuing to compete hard while maintaining the supportive and friendly atmosphere that makes the league such a success.
There were also strong attacking displays from Honey Bees and Shoots and Giggles, with both teams contributing to some of the highest-scoring performances of the evening. Across the court, players continued to create chances, work together effectively, and finish the season on a positive note.
A special mention goes to Sarah Metcalf of Clued Up In Pink, who was named Player of the Session. Sarah was recognised for her positive contribution on court, strong teamwork, and encouragement of those around her. Her performance reflected the values that have helped make the league such an enjoyable environment for all participants.
As the season comes to an end, Clued Up In Pink can also celebrate finishing as the highest-scoring team overall, highlighting the consistency and teamwork they have shown throughout the campaign. However, the success of the league is measured by far more than results alone. The season has provided players with the opportunity to stay active, improve their fitness, develop their skills, and enjoy regular netball in a welcoming and social environment.
The Back to Netball programme continues to bring players together through sport, creating opportunities to build confidence, make new friendships, and enjoy the game each week. The enthusiasm shown by every team throughout the season has been fantastic to see and has helped make another successful chapter for the Winsford Wednesday You Play Netball League.
Congratulations once again to Clued Up In Pink, Shoots and Giggles, Natalie Curzon, and Sarah Metcalf, and thank you to all players who took part throughout the season. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for the next round of fixtures.
