Another excellent evening in the Weston Sunday social netball league this week although netball took a back seat as the first match of the evening between Super Mares and West End Girls had to be abandoned after a couple of minutes due to a player sustaining a knee injury. We would obviously like to wish her a full and speedy recovery and hope to see her back playing in the near future.
Pier Pressure and Weston Wonders battled it out in a heart-stopping match, with Pier Pressure narrowly securing a victory with a score of 7-6. Both teams gave 100% throughout the match and the victory could have gone either was so credit must go to all players involved.
Meanwhile, the Weston Wildcats outmaneuvered Girls Just Wanna Have Fun in a captivating clash, ending the game with a triumphant 5-2 victory. The Wildcats displayed coordination and agility, rising as one of the promising contenders of this season.
Even amidst the tight competition, the true spirit of the sport shone through in every match, proving why netball continues to be a crowd favourite. As we prepare for week 4 of the season, the stakes get higher, the competition tighter and anticipation runs high. If week 3 was anything to go by, we're in for an incredibly thrilling netball season.
